We all come across this question in our childhood days “What is your aim in life?” I remember writing essays on this topic hundreds of times. By the 12th standard, we all have decided our aim in life and set out in the direction. Now, there is no point of return. We are trying very hard to realize or materialize our aim in life. Some are successful, and some are still in the way. I read the book by Dr Anil Gogoi titled “Jibon Gahar Sadhana” published by Asom Sahitya Sabha. He talks about seven D’s in one’s life to materialize aim in life. What are these then?
(1) Dream
(2) Direction
(3) Desire
(4) Dedication
(5) Discipline
(6) Deduction
(7) Deadline
(1) Dream: Everyone has a dream in life. Someone wants to be CEO of Google, or someone wants to set up a company and be like Jeff Bezos. A dream is essential for our existence. One set aim based on his dream. It helps to develop our inner potential.
(2) Direction: When we set aim in life, we set the direction too. If you want to be the CEO of a company, you have to pursue MBA in some Ivy League universities or institute like Havard, IIM, or London School of Economics. Therefore, one should work hard as well as smart in the direction of his aim in life. The objective should always be clear. Shifting goals will not help.
(3) Desire: If you do not have a liking to do a certain thing, you cannot ever progress. You will hate the job and always contemplate it. The desire for doing something is the key to success. Once you develop liking or desire for something, you can devote your uninterrupted attention to it. You can take the example of Edison who devotedly spent his life for various inventions like the light bulb.
(4) Dedication: Dedication is of utmost importance. It indicates the ability of a person to be persistently engaged with something. One has to put in hard work and dedication to realize his dream.
(5) Discipline: Discipline in students’ life means regularity in performing his duties. A disciplined life helps sort out many problems. Disciplined students perform their daily activities regularly. They maintain timetables for studies, games, and various other extracurricular activities. For them, sitting in examinations is easy. They excel squarely. Discipline helps to develop you as a whole.
(6) Deduction: While pursuing objectives, one should regularly introspect whether he is the right track or not. Hence, one has to have the deduction capability. Sometimes, one needs to consult with experienced people for constructive advice. One should avoid useless activities that stand on his way.
(7) Deadline: Every work has a deadline to be finished on
time. The deadline should be respected. Life is a series of deadlines. One who
completes one task on time can move to next. Thus, we can realize our dreams by
merely obeying deadlines.
You can read the book for making B.Tech life successful.
