Future of B.Tech students post COVID era

COVID pandemic shows no sign of slowing down. There is very little chance of having a vaccine by the end of the year in India. Probably, we may not have a vaccine at all. This pandemic has made the lives of millions miserable. We are stuck at home. Offices and factories are closed down. The market is slowing down. The economy is in shambles. It will take time to revive the economy. My intuition says it will take at least two years.

Students’ lives have also become miserable. The worst hits are the final year students in every engineering course. The placements have been low due to slowing Indian economy this year. Then, the COVID has struck down every hope. But, everything is not lost. There is an option of higher studies open. Looking at the pandemic situation, it is better to prepare for higher studies at home with study materials. You can go for M.Tech, MS, or MBA.  In my college days, we collected “Made it Easy” correspondence courses. People go to New Delhi for coaching also. Now a day, I do not know whether that study material is up to the mark or not. You need to consult with your seniors or those who have completed such courses. There are online courses also. You have to be very motivated to do such a course. I have seen that people are really pumped up at first and then lose patience. You have to stick to it to the end. At last, I would say “Self-help is the best help”/ “God helps those help themselves”. For interesting insights into B.Tech life, you can buy the eBook.
