In offices, people come from different backgrounds. They may be diverse in language, culture, ethnicity or come what may be, they are all similar in one aspect which is self-interest. People are driven by it and always will be. Anyone who wishes to think otherwise is free to think. The outside world is not as rosy as we think.
Many people try to take moral high grounds regarding it but everyone has a weak point. Sooner or later, everyone conforms to the surrounding human folks. Whenever interests align people find themselves on good terms with others. As soon as it vanishes, the common ground also disappears. Many feel lonely in this complex world. One needs to be mentally strong to endure such things and keep going.
Hence, I have mentioned that these days, the people around us are neither good nor bad. It is just grey. To mingle with the folks, one has to keep these things in mind. You cannot get anything done unless and until you make him count thousands of benefits out of that choice.
Many a time, you might find it pretty useless. It is how you navigate these days.
