After 12th exam, a large section of science stream students like to study engineering in different branches such as mechanical, computer, electronics, electrical, civil, instrumentation etc. To be able to take admission in engineering colleges, one has to appear JEE and state level entrance exam. For IITs you have to clear JEE advance. In Assam, we have a few pure government run colleges and some constituent colleges. These are given below according to rank wise.
Pure Government Colleges

Constituent Engineering Colleges under State Universities
Constituent college means a part of the university. These colleges were opened as a guideline from UGC to start engineering streams in universities.
