On 19 February 2026, during the DU Literary Festival, former Chief of Army Staff Gen. M. M. Naravane attended a session and book discussion on his book Cantonment Conspiracy.
Prior to that, on 18 th Feb 2026, while waiting outside the venue for the inaugural session, a tall, lanky gentleman approached us seeking directions to Ranghar. We guided him, sensing something familiar about him. Moments later, it struck us—he was none other than Gen. Naravane. We immediately informed our colleagues and later met him after the inaugural address.
The conversation, though brief, was engaging. He graciously invited us to attend his session the following day.
On 19 Feb 2026, we hurried to the venue straight after class and arrived slightly late. As we entered, he remembered us and acknowledged us with a nod—it genuinely felt as though he had been expecting us. The session proved deeply insightful. We posed several questions on contemporary geopolitical developments in the region, and he responded with remarkable clarity and strategic depth.
