Always, I keep on thinking about whether we should trust or not any kind of organization in terms of jobs. In the olden days, there was continuity in jobs. People were easy goings and things were simple. People stayed loyal to things and that meant continuity of jobs engaged with the brands or services provided by the organizations or companies. Now, things change within a second. Businesses and organizations also need to change. As a new employee, you do not have much say in this. Yet, you will be impacted by changing scenarios.
Whenever there is no continuity, people feel stressed and find it difficult to make ends meet. In many countries, the population takes a plunge and the country further goes into the problem of low GDP in the long run. However, as a new employee, these things are too big to think about and beyond your control. One should be very careful to keep a tab about the industry in which he or she is engaged. There is no option. Many people blindly believe the organizations and keep on sticking to them till the end. If you can fix it, it will be good. Most of the time, when things go wrong, it never gets right because people at the helm of things are too blind to see. It is not their fault. It is just a generational thing. Something good may not be good in the future. So, one needs to keep investing in himself or herself by learning new things so that transition becomes easy. It is the curse of modern times. We have to accept it. Therefore, once you are comfortable with one source of income, you have to keep thinking of other sources to develop. Am I asking you to be a self-centred person? Yes, I am damn right. You better be.

You might know about the term
called ‘Frenemy’. In our world, everyone is a frenemy to one another. In
all offices, you will find people posing as a friend and then backstabbing when
you are not alert. There is no concept of friendship and only permanent interests
persist. People stay with you for their certain interests. So, you have to
identify yourself with what kind of nectar is oozing out from you for which
everyone is thronging around you. It might sound vicious but it is realism.
People will stay till that nectar exists. In other words, you can
control the flow of nectar to be in the flavour of these people. See the world from this perspective. You will see patterns. Should you feel bad about it? No. You are also part of it. You just do less or not efficient like them to be called a successful one.
Coming back to frenemies, you have to be careful that you do not confide in anything controversial that might cause demise in the future. People try to read your mind during long talks. Therefore, one should avoid talking about controversial topics related to the particular workspace at all costs. The same people who seemed to be great with you will go directly and fill everyone with your thoughts. Sooner or later, people turn against you. People do it for many reasons. Sometimes, it is the habit of the person and it has been ingrained in his character through his upbringing in such societies. They cannot be changed. Many people do it to take advantage of others because they have to go up and, in the process, they just need a stepping stone. In that case, your head is the stepping stone for their progress.
You might be wondering what I should talk about then. You are to pick up some topics for your benefits not related to your workplace and always divert your talk to that. You can talk about international affairs in relation to your countries. These should be interesting topics among adults. In other words, you can drive them away while having these discussions in a polite indirect manner. One does not need to have a conflict all the time. Divulging less is in your control. So, the approach should be that.
